New Navy has been described by Triple J’s Dom Alessio as “having a ton of potential, combining really well the sounds of Britain and the sounds of the U.S.” As Sydney locals, these guys draw influence from the great pop and indie acts such as The Cure and Talking heads, combined with contemporary artists such as VHS OR BETA, Battles and Editors. The ambitious quartet have received attention and praise for their ethereal and intimate live performances having shared the stage with Australian heavyweights including Dappled Cities, Philadelphia Grand Jury and Miami Horror.

A top shelf DJ since the early 90’s and undoubtedly one of this countries leading purveyors of quality deep, fat, funky grooves, Nick Law is a man at the top of his game…
His unique style of DJing and intimate knowledge of what moves a dancefloor has seen Nick rock the socks off many seminal clubbing establishments across the world from Chicago’s Crow Bar to London’s Bar Rumba. Back in his hometown of Sydney, you will find Nick shaking the rafters in many of the cities leading clubs and venues regularly leaving the crowd screaming for more. Having performed with all the greats of the house scene, Nick now concentrates on throwing ‘one-off’ parties and performing at select guest events of his choosing…

If you have had the pleasure to listen to Catherine at one of the her live performances around Sydney, her name is one that you will not quickly forget. Her intimate lyrics and incredible voice control suggest that Catherine will be a name to watch on the Australian music scene in the coming year.

I AM APOLLO
The raw and honest sound produced by I Am Apollo will capture your heart, pull at its strings, bring you to your feet and leave a sweet taste in your mouth. 2009 proved to be a successful year for I Am Apollo with appearances at iconic jazz club, Brass Monkey, which has housed some of the biggest names in Australian and international music. November 2009 also saw I Am Apollo feature at Sydney Festival ‘A Day at the Park’ alongside performers You Am I, The Beautiful Girls, and Ash Grunwald.

SAVING GRACE
The heartfelt lyrical honesty, elaborate arrangements and refusal to be categorised by one musical style are what sets Saving Grace apart on the local music scene. Saving Grace draw their musical influence from performers such as Damien Rice, Ben Harper and The Beatles, and have been likened by critics to Jeff Buckley, early Coldplay and Radiohead. Although relatively new on the local live scene, the band have already been described by industry insiders as making ‘delicious music for discerning ears’.
